What is CMJJ

Carlos Machado, the owner and chief instructor of Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters.

In addition, he served as the founder and president of the Carlos Machado Jiu Jitsu Association, a globally recognized and ever-expanding BJJ organization. As one of the pioneers who introduced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the United States, he is part of a rich lineage of BJJ legends – and the eldest among the Machado brothers and has familial ties with the Gracie family, the creators of this art form.

He currently hold the esteemed 8th Degree Coral Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a recent honor that he is delighted to share. The goal is to pass on passion and wealth of experience to you, and I look forward to welcoming you on the mat soon.

Master Machado firmly believe that while Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a comprehensive and effective martial art in its own right, it also beautifully complements other martial arts. His training spans various disciplines including Greco-Roman wrestling, sambo, and stick fighting, each providing invaluable skills and techniques. This has led me to advocate for a subtle fusion of compatible arts that can enhance your growth. Hence, the teaching philosophy is rooted in open-mindedness towards Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and respect for other art forms.

Beyond martial arts, we pride ourselves on humility, respectfulness, and generosity. We find immense joy in imparting knowledge and skills to students and followers alike. As a well-respected figure in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and wider martial arts community, Master Machado has been fortunate to achieve numerous accolades throughout his career. Off the mat, he's a dedicated family man, deeply devoted to his wife and children. His approach to life is optimistic and grateful and strive to inspire others to embrace the same positivity.

Thank you for considering Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu with Professor Bubba. We eagerly await the opportunity to meet you.

About

What is Bang Muay Thai

Bang Angel.jpg

The style was created by mixing elements of kickboxing and Muay Thai with elements and techniques of other popular martial arts such as boxing, karate, and wrestling.

Bang Muay Thai was created by Duane “Bang” Ludwig, hence the name Bang Muay Thai. Ludwig is a former Muay Thai and kickboxing champion. He created Bang Muay Thai as a way further develop the techniques used in Muay Thai and make them more applicable in an MMA fight.

Bang Muay Thai is basically a combination of kickboxing and Muay Thai mostly while also adding some other techniques from boxing, karate, and wrestling. The clinching game is also a big part of Bang Muay Thai, with the idea being that it can be used to set up knees, elbows, and sweeps, just like in regular Muay Thai.

Duane “Bang” Ludwig is a retired American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter and current head coach at Bang Muay Thai. He is a former UFC Welterweight Champion and has also competed in PRIDE Fighting Championships, Strikeforce, WEC, DREAM, and M-1 Global. Ludwig formerly held the unofficial fastest knockout record in the UFC after his win against Jonathan Goulet (in 0:06) at UFC Fight Night 3.

Duane “Bang” Ludwig was trained by none other than the legendary Bas Ruten. After his successful Muay Thai career, Ludwig began to focus on MMA. Ludwig was one of the first people to use the term “Muay Thai” in MMA and has been credited as being one of the pioneers of bringing Muay Thai into the sport of MMA.

Ludwig made his UFC debut at UFC by fighting Genki Sudo, who was on a 9-fight win streak. He lost the fight by decision. Ludwig then went on to fight Jonathan Goulet at UFC Fight Night 3; he won the fight in just 6 seconds via KO, which is still the fastest knockout in UFC history.

He would go on to compete in several more high-profile organizations before retiring from fighting in 2013.

In recent years, Ludwig has become known for his work as a coach, helping to develop the careers of many top MMA fighters, such as TJ Dillashaw, Urijah Faber, and Paige VanZant
